REEDMORE

REEDMORE ("we," "our," or "us") operates the REEDMORE mobile application ("the App"). We are a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what data the App collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and your rights. If you have any questions, please reach out through the feedback form in the App settings under your profile.

1. Data we collect

Account information

Email address — used to sign you in.
Name — only if you sign in with Apple or Google and they share it with us.
A user ID we generate when your account is created.
An encrypted hash of your password — we never see your plaintext password.

Reading data

Documents you import (PDFs, EPUBs, articles, plain text).
Your reading progress, bookmarks, highlights, and annotations.
Daily reading stats: words read, minutes spent reading, current streak, achievements unlocked.

Subscription data

Whether you are a premium subscriber and your renewal date.
Your purchase history with REEDMORE.
Payment cards are handled directly by Apple and our subscription processor RevenueCat. REEDMORE never sees or stores your card details.

Product analytics

Anonymous events about which screens you visit and which features you use, so we can understand what works and build a better app.
Crash reports and performance diagnostics.

Device identifiers

A push notification token, stored only if you grant notification permission, and used only to deliver the notifications you've enabled.

2. How we use your data

We use your data only to operate REEDMORE:

To authenticate you when you sign in.
To sync your reading progress and library across your devices.
To deliver and validate your subscription.
To send the notifications you've enabled (streak reminders, achievements, trial expiry, etc.).
To understand which features users find valuable so we can improve the App.
To diagnose crashes and performance issues.

What we do not do:

We do not sell your data.
We do not share your data with data brokers.
We do not use your data for advertising of any kind, ours or anyone else's.
We do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not display third-party advertisements inside REEDMORE.

3. Third parties we share data with

REEDMORE relies on a small number of service providers to operate. Each one only receives the minimum data needed for the function it provides, and each is contractually obligated to handle that data securely and only as we instruct.

Supabase (data storage and authentication) — receives your email, encrypted password, user ID, and the reading content and progress you generate. supabase.com/privacy
RevenueCat (subscription management) — receives an anonymised user ID, your subscription status, and your purchase events. revenuecat.com/privacy
Mixpanel (anonymous product analytics) — receives anonymised event data about feature usage and screens you visit. Not used for tracking, advertising, or measurement of advertising. mixpanel.com/legal/privacy-policy
Apple — for in-app purchases, Sign in with Apple (only if you choose to use it), and push notification delivery. Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google. Google's privacy practices are governed by Google's own privacy policy.

4. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account from inside the App (Profile → Delete Account), we permanently erase all your personal data — your reading content, progress, stats, bookmarks, account info — within 24 hours. Anonymised analytics events older than 24 months are automatically purged from Mixpanel.

5. Your rights

Whoever you are, you can:

Delete your account at any time. Open the App, go to Profile → Delete Account. This permanently erases your data.
Request a copy of your data. Reach out through the feedback form in the App settings under your profile and we will send you everything we hold on you within 30 days.
Update your account info from the Profile tab inside the App.

If you live in the United Kingdom, the European Union, California, or any other region with specific privacy laws (UK GDPR, GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and equivalents), you have additional rights including:

The right to object to or restrict processing of your data.
The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. UK residents can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
The right to withdraw consent for analytics at any time, from the App's settings.

6. Children's privacy

REEDMORE is rated 13+ and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us through the feedback form in the App settings under your profile and we will delete it immediately.

7. Security

Your account password is hashed before it ever reaches our servers — even we cannot see it. Authentication tokens on your device are stored in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore, never in plain storage. All data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. No system is perfectly secure; in the unlikely event of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you within 72 hours.

8. International transfers

Our service providers (Supabase, RevenueCat, Mixpanel) operate servers in multiple regions including the United States and the European Union. By using REEDMORE you understand that your data may be transferred to and processed in those regions. Each provider is contractually bound to standard data-protection clauses that meet UK and EU adequacy requirements.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will notify you in-app or by email before it takes effect.
